Short Bio

Prentice Wimes is the founder of Handcuff Free®, a trademarked lifestyle movement centered on empowerment, creativity, and personal freedom. Coming from a background filled with obstacles, adversity, and limited opportunities, Prentice learned early how to rise above barriers through faith, discipline, and resilience. His journey shaped Handcuff Free®̶a movement dedicated to breaking limits and rewriting your future.

The roots of Handcuff Free® trace back to 2007 during the historic Jena 6 civil rights movement. Prentice created a bold protest shirt reading, “The Noose Is Loose ̶ Free the Jena 6.” National coverage of the demonstrations documented people wearing “handcuff free clothing,” marking the earliest public expression of the message he would later build into the Handcuff Free® brand. Even before the trademark existed, his call for justice, liberation, and elevating lives was already present in the streets.

• Featured in multiple media publications highlighting entrepreneurship, creativity, and community empowerment.
